Growing Up Fast!

Hi everyone! I know there are a lot of pictures this time, but I just couldn't make any more cuts! How can I resist this face!

Jonathan has had a great month!
New stuff since the last post: sits on his own all the time,
(This was taken on his half birthday,

and this was three weeks later.)

stands holding on to furniture,

"inch-worms" around to get places on his tummy,

rolls easily from back to tummy and back again (which means we can't keep him off his tummy at night),

waves his arms wildly so the toys go flying and Mom goes fetching,

holds his own bottle,

eats all kinds of fruits and veggies,
(Sometimes he likes them,

and sometimes he doesn't!)

(This lets him taste foods that can't be pureed and might cause him to choke. He is sucking on grapes here.)

composes new songs like Daddy,

chews on his toes,

explores new toys,

but he still sucks his thumb all night long.

He also asks to be pulled to standing up by grabbing our hands, "walks" on his knees, and spins in a 360 circle on his tummy but I haven't captured pictures of those yet.

Here are some cute pictures of him just being himself. He is on the piano in the first one-- how appropriate given the pose!

I am hoping his love of being clean continues into his grade school years :þ


Daddy got a new coffee maker and he got a new toy! From the looks of this, he might be part cat!

Jonathan and Mommy


Chris and Jonathan spend almost all weekend together every week and they have had some great adventures. Here are some of the highlights.


Cruising in style in his new pack. We went to a local park to walk around the lake and everyone commented on how they would love to change places with Jonathan.



He loves running water in streams.

This was after a morning walk around the block.

Riding around on Daddy's shoulders is fun,

but it can be a little scary too since Daddy is so tall!

We also had some six month pictures done and I have TONS of wallet sized pictures for anyone who wants one. The different poses follow below. Thanks for checking in on our little guy! I cannot believe how much he has grown up and how fast the time has passed!

First Christmas

OK, so I know Christmas was forever ago, but here is a photo recap of how we spent our first Christmas as a family of three!
(Check out what his shirt says!)


We actually had FOUR celebrations so Jonathan got pretty good at opening gifts by Christmas night. First, we spent Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Schaefer's house.

It even has a tail!

One of Daddy's favorites when he was little: Peter Rabbit. Thanks Grandma Brenda!


Next, we had our last relaxing Christmas morning, just the three of us.

Dad got him his stocking stuffers: soft basketballs, a football and an elephant with a very chewable trunk.

All eyes on Jonathan as he opens his first stocking.

Next, a curious Jonathan (and Sage) watches as Daddy opens his gift.

The ever shifting moods of a six month old. One minute...

Third, we went to a big Christmas dinner with the Sheesley (Chris' mom's) side of the family and my parents and brother. Jonathan was the center of attention for most of the gift opening time. He was also the center of some practical jokes.

He quickly caught on to the concept of "More!"

This made us wonder why we even bothered to put a gift inside the wrapping paper!

And lastly, we spent the evening opening gifts with my family.
Here Jonathan is opening a gift Papa Randy brought back from Great Grandma Betty in Florida.

The best part is, of course, the tag.

Now he is testing Mom's new tea kettle. Yep, it works!

Later that week, Great Uncle Garth and Great Aunt Pattie stopped by for a visit with their son, Brad. Jonathan stayed up way too late but he was a huge help in answering the questions in our game. :)

We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year, but my new fancy camera was shipped without the USB cord so all 500 pictures are lounging around inside the camera, waiting to be transferred some day!
